Photo Collage

Visiting artist Faisal Abdu'allah led two workshops focusing on identity. Faisal is a photographer based in London and explores themes of identity, race and nationality. The group were introduced to Polaroid photography using a Hasselblad (the alleged moon landing camera) and used the resulting images to create photomantage to gain inspiration for further work.

  1. Making the collages was really interesting,
pictures were taken of each of us, blown up and then we "traded" noses and eyes until we had a face of lots of different people!
    Really weird! and funny! =]
Some of the pictures looked familiar....
    hhmmmmm...

  2. Making these collage/portraits was a lot of fun! We took pictures of ourselves and then, using other peoples blown up pictures, we created a totally individual image. It was really fun and I would love to try it again as it wasn't something I had dont before. Its quite exciting knowing that its totally individual and there will never be anything quite like it made again x] Some of the pictures looked very strange but also quite funny x]
